Maria Jose Camacho, councilor of the PSOE in the Linares City Council, presented at a press conference the events organized by the party to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.
The program includes a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and raising awareness among citizens about gender-based violence and promoting equality between men and women. The activities begin with a lecture entitled “Silent violence: No todo es lo que parece” on November 19 at PSOE headquarters at 6:00 p.m. There are different forms of violence, which in turn can be seen in any situation of violence.
On November 23, the headquarters of the PSOE will be the stage for the screening of the feminist film “Girasoles Silvestres”, which can be seen from 20:00. This film will touch on the themes of struggle, resilience and women's empowerment and will be presented as a reflection of the realities that many women face.
Finally, on November 28th, the Plaza de la Constitución will become a space of expression and protest with the reading of street poetry from 17:00 to 18:00. This activity aims to make women's voices visible through poetry and create a platform to think about gender violence.
María José Camacho emphasized that the main purpose of these activities is to inform society about gender violence, to make it more aware of its existence and ways to eliminate it, as well as to promote gender equality in all areas of life.
