For an illustrator, to be an escritor, it's important, important, to stay in touch with the editor. Con Nórdica Libros teneido estoy both.

Contacted Diego Moreno, editor of Nórdica Libros. This is an example of the trust mentioned earlier, as there are many illustrated editions of this work and the editorial risk is assumed.

Yes, this is a story that has always fascinated me. There are two things that really tempted me to illustrate and they were my love for the world of dolls and the city of Florence. When I started working on the project, I knew that dolls appeared in only two of the 36 chapters and that there was no place in the city of Florence, because all the stories take place in small coastal towns in the Toscana region que tuve que replantear mi propuesta.

What did the book mean to Alberto Gamon?

Throughout my childhood, the story of Pinocchio was, as it happened to most people, a story told in a cartoon by Walt Disney, far from what Carlo Collodi told. This is the best option for your family, or allows you to study to accept the author as he is. Collodi talks about poverty and the consequences of lack of education.

He worked on the project for more than two years and devoted much of his time to reading essays, articles and documentaries on the subject. My graphic proposal is the result of all this and of course reading Collodi's book. After clarifying what I wanted to say, it cost me the graphic part to find the balance, and my pictures were neither too difficult nor too funny.

Alberto Gamo has a very recognizable, almost incomparable style.

Todo ilustrador or ilustradora que se se planee poner imágenes a un clásico has the obligation to try to contribute something new that has been illustrated many times. Therefore, it is a key point to decide on the Pinocho icon.

Yes, it is intentional. In addition to the fact that my style and stories have improved over the years, Las aventuras de Pinocho is a very moving book, and while it's great to have a unique style, it's important to learn it. to be able to adapt it to the text it describes.

You can't lecture, focus on your textbooks. Reinterprets images that are authored by the author or the author.

What is the key to Alberto Gamo's creativity? You can change anytime for free and free…

After thirty years of professional activity, he came to the conclusion that it is not so important to publish many books as to devote the time you think is necessary to each one.

How do you choose an illustrator? ¿How are you interested in Alberto Gamón?

An illustrator should be a person who can observe and experience the surroundings. In this case, the year I dedicated myself to visiting the Museo del Prado was greatly influenced by a card my partner gave me that allowed me to enter at any time. You can see the 50th anniversary of the Prado museum.

The last eight months of the more than two years he devoted to the project were spent on the realization of the originals. Nothing for rubber. Color is digital; Let me paint different colors.

It's my most personal project of all the projects he's ever done, and he's also spent more time on it. Also, it's been eight years since I illustrated Almas muertas, so I understand that the result could be more profound.
