The University of Jaen celebrated this Tuesday the day “Jaen facing the challenges of mobility” where the same problems and opportunities are addressed with the participation of experts, public institutions and key organizations. Reflections and discussions on the present and future of infrastructure and transport services in the province.
The day was opened by Francisco Roca, vice-rector of Permanent Formation, Tecnologías Educativas e Innovación Docente de la UJA, Carmen Rueda, Office Permanente de Ayuda al Inversor, Promoción Económica de Captacion, Promoción Económica de Captaloss, coordinators of the day, UJA professor Manuel Valverde and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid professor Pablo Garrido.
The day was marked by the celebration of three thematic sessions. The first analyzed the social and economic impact of improving rail links, focusing on the importance of the railway as a vector of economic and social growth in Jaén. The participation of Asociación Contra el Cáncer and Colegio Profesional de Economistas de Jaén is planned for this.
The second session discussed the rail situation for travelers in Spain, with prominent speakers from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the University of Jaen analyzing rail infrastructures and their impact on passenger mobility.
Finally, the third session focused specifically on the current models of transport in the province of Jaén, presented by speakers from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, to the urgent transport needs identified by representatives of the company de Jaén and youth mobility exposed by the Consejo de Estudiantes de la UJA difficulties.
