The historical figure of Juana I de Castilla, known to many as Juana “la Loca”, lives in the pages of writer Pedro Guido's novel “Loca”, which will be presented on December 13 at the Instituto Huarte theater. at 6:30 p.m. The play deals with the challenges and obstacles Juana must overcome to reclaim and defend her rights as queen at a time when her partner and her own father's power and ambition confine her to silence and incomprehension.
In elegant and detailed prose, Pedro Guido ofrece un retrato magistral de Juana I reveals the personal and political struggles that defined his life and legacy. Lodge goes beyond the stereotype of the “native queen” and presents a deep and human vision of a woman trying to overcome the manipulations and limitations imposed by those who are supposed to support her.
The presentation includes a combination of live music, a dramatic reading of excerpts from the work, and an interactive conversation with author Pedro Guido and monologue.
During the presentation, Pedro Guido will share his creative process and the discoveries that gave him life to this fascinating historical character.
