Wololo Sound – Next year will mark 20 years of his career. What do you think was your main learning experience as an artist during this time? How long has it been since ¿Cómo valoras el cambio en la escena?
Nastia – O largo un largo recorido. Son casi 20 años de career, voy a celebrarlo en febrero, así que o ido viendo differenta fases de nuestra industria y ¡no para de cambiar! It's important to be able to adapt to new realities, move forward, and do whatever you believe is right…and people take notice.
Every career requires a certain ability and I believe that the first enemy of every artist is their ego. It has recently: I am more impressed with myself. Aconsejaría a todo el mundo que tuviera cuidado con su ego. However, wrinkles above all else, más aprendes. How to represent yourself on social networks is very important, how to use modern tools to promote and listen to you… because sometimes I do creative work that deserves punishment, but the algorithms say that it's not the right format or something like that… que creo que la habilidad más importante ahora mismo es aprendar a representarte y promocionarte en una posición determinada.
Wololo Sound – Next year you will be celebrating 20 years of your career. What do you think you learned the most as an artist during this time? How do you rate the change in the scene from when you started to now?
Nastia – I have come a long, long way. I'm almost 20 years into my career, which I'll be celebrating in February, so I see different stages of our industry and it's always changing! It's important to be able to adapt to new realities, to move on and do things the way you think is right… and for people to pay attention to that.
Every career requires certain skills and I think every artist's first enemy is their ego. Something I've learned recently: my ego has a lot to do with my career. I would advise everyone to take care of their ego. But then, of course, as we create, as we learn. How to represent yourself on social media is very important, how to use modern tools to promote yourself and be heard… Because sometimes I do creative work with it, it's worth paying attention, but the algorithms say it's not the right format or something. … So I think the most important skill right now is learning how to represent and promote yourself in a certain position.
WS – Sin duda eres conocida por tu a thoss musicales, pudiendo escucharte pinchar desde techno hasta house, passando for drum and bass, ghetto and sounds more experimental. A la hora de psr, ¿crees que es fundamental ser una persona eclectica y con un amlio abanico musical?
N – No creo que haya una forma de ser correcta. Sir DJ is not a formula, for example, you can not look at anything. For example, you can choose the music, look like, check my finger… You can choose any music that is correct, creative or interesting, first class music or any sound. It is natural.
WS – You are definitely known for your diversity in your musical tastes, you can be heard playing techno to house, drum and bass, ghetto or more experimental sounds. When it comes to DJing, do you think it's important to be an eclectic person with a wide range of music?
N – I think there is no way to be. You know, DJing is not a formula – everyone has to play what they feel, because music is primarily a reflection of oneself. For example, I choose music that reflects my feelings, views, myself… Therefore, if I feel that this music is true, creative or interesting, you should first put it in yourself, then give it to the people. It should be natural and pure.
WS – in 2025, NECHTO cumplirá will be 5 years old. How is the process of choosing a new track?
N – I think that the model of being the head of the company is getting old. Earnings from our partnership. Now I'm creating a great project to grow my stamp and get some people involved in what I'm doing. You can point to a platform or an artist to express it. For example, if you're an artist and don't have a label, I'll give you the opportunity to try at least one release so you can see how the label works, how we sign and choose the themes. The future is about working with other people. Collaboration is key, expanding the community and attracting interest and numbers.
WS – Your label NECHTO will be 5 years old in 2025, what does being a label manager mean to you? How is the selection process for the new track going?
N – I think the model of being a label boss is getting old. The future of labels is about collaboration. Now I'm creating a big project to grow my label and get some people involved in what I'm doing. You know, like giving artists a platform to represent and express themselves. For example, if you're an artist and you don't have a label, I'll give you the opportunity to at least try running a release so you can see how the label works, how we sign and select tracks. .. The future is about working with other people. Collaboration is key, broadening the audience and driving interest and numbers.
WS – We know that you have been very clear about your position regarding the ongoing armed conflict in your country today. Do you think it has hurt you in any way in your professional career because of the promoters position prior to your relationship?
N – I think that any activity affects the competitions, only because of the position. If you're a leader, public figure, or artist, people expect you to take a stand on homophobia, harassment, sexism, or feminism. The DJ does not have to do any soy solo una that there is any movie. También soy una personality. There are no restrictions for the employer. Quiero ser alguien mucho más grande que eso. Y, more, earlier.
Let us know what you think, it's a no-brainer. So you can lose your audience. But your followers will respect you more for taking a stand. In my opinion, aquí es que no puedo hacerlo de otra manera. Yes, he paid my price, but no arrepiento me.
WS – We know that you have been very clear about your position regarding the ongoing armed conflict in your country. Do you feel that it has hurt you in any way in your professional division because of the promoters stance on your relationship?
N – I think that any kind of activism affects the career, just because you have a position. If you're a leader, a public figure, or an artist, people expect you to take a stand on homophobia, harassment, sexism, or feminism. The move doesn't really matter, but in my case I think it's necessary because I'm not just a DJ. I am also a person. I don't just want to entertain people. I want to be someone bigger than him. And of course, it has a price.
You always get paid to be loud or opinionated because we know not everyone will agree with you. So you might lose some audience. But your followers will respect you more for your positions. So my point here is that I can't do it any other way. Yes, I paid my price, but I have no regrets.
WS – El próximo 16 de noviembre tezrás of Córdoba, en el sur de España, for Night Room TV. Is it your first time in southern Spain? Are you familiar with the vista of Córdoba?
N – There is no one in Cordoba, no! This is incredible. I intend to swim there for the first time and I hope to have some time to explore the city, because the life of a DJ is a constant journey. Puedo coger dos vuelos, llegar tarde, quizá dinner, quizá dormir un poco… depends. However, it is very emotional!
WS – Next November 16th you will be playing for Night Room TV in Córdoba in southern Spain. First time playing in the south of Spain? Did you get a glimpse of the city of Córdoba?
N – I have never been to Cordoba, not yet! This is amazing. I will be playing there for the first time and hopefully I will have some time to check out the city because the DJ life is a constant journey. I can take two flights, arrive late, maybe have dinner, maybe sleep a little… it depends. But yes, I am very excited!
WS – What do you think about projects like Night Room TV, where they bet on connecting electronic music directly with the historical and architectural heritage of cities, recording sessions with important audiovisual production: camera cranes, drones, videographers, etc. ?
N – I believe that this is something that happens, because electronic music is modern art. It is good to combine two arts, two cultures, because they complement each other. Siempre está bien cuando unos pocos culturas, unos pocos movimientos se mezclán de la mejor manera posible. Electronic music deserves to be played and heard in historical places. It's time for electronic music to become art.
WS – What do you think about projects like Night Room TV, where they bet on combining live electronic music with the historical and architectural heritage of cities, recording sessions with important audiovisual production: camera cranes, drones, videographers, etc.?
N – I think it had to happen, because electronic music is modern art. It is good to combine two arts, two cultures in one space, because they complement each other. It's always good to have a few cultures collide at their best with little action. Electronic music deserves and deserves to be played and heard in such historic places. It's time to say that electronic music is an art!
